The price of a business SMS depends on three things: the price per SMS of your plan, the number of segments in each message and the volume you send. Here is how to work it out with the Sendimo price list, with no surprises on the bill.
The Sendimo price list
Prices are indicative and exclude tax. Tax-inclusive terms will be published at launch.
| Plan | Amount | Price per SMS | SMS included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Top-up | from 20 DT | 0.150 DT | 133 SMS for 20 DT |
| Starter | 50 DT | 0.140 DT | 357 SMS |
| Pro | 200 DT | 0.120 DT | 1,666 SMS |
| Enterprise | from 500 DT | 0.100 DT | 5,000 SMS and more |
Each SMS you send is taken from your balance at your plan's rate. You pick the plan at every top-up, with no commitment.
One SMS is not always one SMS
An SMS is billed per segment. A segment's length depends on the encoding, which Sendimo picks automatically:
| Encoding | 1 segment | Per segment beyond | Used for |
|---|---|---|---|
| GSM-7 | 160 characters | 153 characters | Latin text, French without most accents |
| Unicode | 70 characters | 67 characters | Arabic, emoji, characters outside GSM-7 |
A 200-character message in GSM-7 is therefore 2 segments, so 2 SMS from your balance. The same message in Arabic is 3 segments. A message can be up to 10 segments long.
Some French accents switch the whole message to Unicode. The letters é, è, à, ù stay in GSM-7, but ê, â, î, ô, û and ç force Unicode. A single "ç" is enough to cut the limit from 160 to 70 characters.
Worked examples
A verification code. "Votre code Sendimo est 482913. Il expire dans 5 minutes." is 56 characters in GSM-7: 1 segment. With the Pro pack it costs 0.120 DT.
An order confirmation in Arabic. A 120-character text in Arabic switches to Unicode: 2 segments, so 0.280 DT with the Starter pack.
1,000 confirmations a month. With one-segment messages:
- with a top-up: 1,000 × 0.150 = 150 DT;
- with the Pro pack: 200 DT for 1,666 SMS, so 0.120 DT per SMS and 666 SMS left for next month;
- with the Enterprise pack, from 5,000 SMS: 0.100 DT per SMS.
To find the cheapest combination for your volume, use the calculator on the Pricing page.
How to pay less per SMS
- Stay under 160 characters. One sentence too many can double the cost.
- Avoid characters that force Unicode in French messages: no emoji, and check every ê, â, ô and ç.
- Pick your plan from your real volume, not from a one-off peak.
- Show the cost before a bulk send. The API response always returns
encoding,segmentsandcostfor each message.
